FreedomDog

Our mission

Good food.
Second chances.

Freedom Dog exists to create paid workforce training, dignity, employment pathways and second chances for justice-impacted people — through food service.

The Freedom Dog manifesto

Hot dogs are the product. Freedom is the brand. Opportunity is the mission.

We Don’t Just Sell Hot Dogs—We Give Second Chances.

Every dog sold is meant to fund paid training, dignity and real pathways to work.

Why a food truck?

The kitchen is a classroom.

Coming home after incarceration often means facing closed doors — to jobs, housing and the basic chance to prove yourself. Food service is one of the industries where skills, reliability and attitude can open those doors.

A food truck puts every part of that work in one place: prep, safety, the line, the window, the customer. It’s a training ground that also earns revenue to sustain the mission.

We don’t just sell hot dogs — we give second chances.

What we stand on

Values

Dignity

Everyone deserves to be seen for who they are becoming — not only for where they’ve been.

Paid opportunity

Training shouldn’t cost people income they can’t afford to lose. The model is built around a stipend.

Real skills

Food safety, service and teamwork learned on a working truck, under real conditions.

Pathways

The goal isn’t the truck. It’s the next job, and the one after that.

Part of Soft Landing

Freedom Dog operates as part of the Soft Landing ecosystem — a network of supports for people returning to their communities.

The truck is one piece of that ecosystem: a hands-on, paid entry point into work, connected to the broader support people need to stay on track.
